POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER, UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO

 We are seeking to fill a post-doctoral position at the University of Chicago as part of a NIH-funded project investigating the role of gesture in learning.  The focus of this post-doctoral position is to explore whether gesture’s impact on learning stems, at least in part, from its grounding in action and, if so, whether educators can capitalize on gesture’s closeness to action to promote learning. Strong candidates will have demonstrated their ability to be independent, productive researchers and will have expertise in investigating language, gesture or sign.

A doctoral degree is required in psychology, cognitive science, or education with research interests in cognitive development.  Experience coordinating the work of others and strong project management skills are preferred.
