In this seminar we will be reading and discussing current research related to the interplay of cognition and action – an emerging research perspective loosely defined as embodied cognition. A central tenant of embodied cognition is that cognitive processes are deeply rooted in the body’s interactions with the world.

Everyone will be asked to pick readings for one week of class. The week before your scheduled “reading pick week,” please be prepared to offer 3-4 suggested papers to the class. Other individuals should also feel free to bring suggested readings to class. The class will then decide as a group on the specific papers that will be read at the next meeting.
