Naureen Hemani
Research Assistant email: hemani@uchicago.edu Naureen received her B.A. in Psychology from The University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and went on to receive her M.A. in Clinical Psychology in 2009. Naureen currently works on projects that focus on the role of gesture in the acquisition of learning in school-aged children. She works on the Mental Rotation project, which focuses on early spatial learning in kindergarten children, as well as the Math project, which looks at the role of gesture while solving equivalency problems in 3rd and 4th grade students. Naureen is interested in the role that gesture plays in learning and the ways that this type of research can be used in classroom settings. Contact Naureen for more information or assistance on: |

Dan graduated from Colorado College in 2010 with a B.A. in Psychology. In the Goldin-Meadow Lab he is working on the Modeling and Implicit Knowledge project examining the role of gesture in extracting (and possibly creating) implicit knowledge in children. He also works with Dr. Carol Padden's lab at UCSD on project investigating the presence (of absence) of mismatching gesture in deaf children. Mark Resnick
Research Assistant email: mdresnick@uchicago.edu Mark received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2011. He currently works on the Nicaraguan Home Sign Project, which explores the development of language through sign and gesturing. His interests are in non-verbal communication and behavior by both the speaker and the recipient.
